This is a 3-day event specifically for prospective PhD students looking into the Rice CS graduate program. It is hosted annually around February. To get a better idea of what is included, below we provided a day-by-day breakdown.
Day 1:
(Afternoon) – Ice Breakers with current PhD students to get to know peers and hear about the program from a student perspective.
Day 2:
(Morning) – Meet with CS professors to discuss their research interests and find opportunities. Afterward, attend a poster session to get a more detailed look at the different areas and find out more.
(Evening) – Dinner with current CS graduate students and faculty provides an opportunity to ask questions about the department, Rice, or Houston.
Day 3:
(Morning) – Travel in and around Houston to get a better feel for the city.
(Evening) – Informal dinner with only other PhD students, followed by social events including board games and more.
