DunCelWelcome to Duncan Hall, a building as vibrant as our community and your new home as a CS graduate student. The entire CS GSA would like to congratulate you on choosing Rice! You’ve made the right decision and we’re here to support you every step of the way. Graduate school is difficult and it’s only made harder when you have to adjust to a new place. Therefore, the CS GSA has tried to make your transition as easy as possible. From our mentorship pairing program to where to get cheap beer (Valhalla) we want to be with you on this journey. We’re here to help you be successful and establish lifelong relationships along the way.

  • Check-In: CS GSA will have an orientation to help you transition into graduate life.
  • Getting settled: Please contact our president or academics directors

Housing for Graduate Students:

  • Rice Apartment Options – These 3 building include shuttle services to Rice campus and local shopping
  • Alternatives Off-Campus – Resources to find alternatives provided by the office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
  • Graduate Loan Closet – Allows graduate students to borrow household items for the duration of their stay at Rice (linens, dishes, cookware, bookcases, lamps, toasters, coffee makers)
